About MLA Communication Division

The MLA Communication Committee was formed in early 2007 to coordinate communications for the organization. The group's goal is to ensure members are connected to the organization and to each other through a variety of communication channels.

Throughout 2007, the Committee worked to create a communication strategy for MLA, develop a recognizable brand, and improve member communications and community. Each of these goals were met by our small but hard-working group who celebrated the following achievements:

• Created MLA Branding/Style Guide
• Interfaced with sub-groups to gather information
• Produced MLA Connection newsletter
• Redesigned MNLibraryAssociation.org
• Made MLA present on social networking sites

In 2008, the Communications Committee will continue working to bring members together by building out the MLA Web site, supporting the MLA Visioning project, and building community through online and offline activities.
