Disaster relief
“In times of disaster, to whom you can you turn? In the case of the Roseau Public library, we turned to the Minnesota Library Foundation. Their generous gift made possible the replacement of wooden shelving, tables and chairs that were contaminated in the devastating flood that hit Roseau in June 2002. Our library is indebted to the Foundation for helping libraries across the state “bounce back” from catastrophic losses.”

Authors @ Your Library: A five-month long monthly author speaker series designed to bring Minnesota authors to southwestern Minnesota.
Gaylord Public Library, Gaylord
A "Community Technology Night" at the library held in conjunction with the City of Gaylord's Technology Committee. The event will bring community members of all ages together to learn about and experience mew technology such as web cams, the Wii, electronic book readers, and more. The equipment will be loaned for the night by the TdS library system as part of a US Library Services' grant. Local high school students, library staff and the Technology committee will demonstrate the equipment and guide these new experiences during the technology night. The second part of the project is to purchase new technology based on feedback from participants.
eFolio Minnesota
MnSCU has developed a tool, E-Folio, that every job seeker should be able and eager to use. E-Folio has been in operation for over six years, has been well received both nationally and internationally, and has received numerous awards. Every college graduate in the state of Minnesota should be proficient in this critical tool. The project will focus on the importance of this tool, prepare faculty in the basics of building an E-Folio site so that they may mentor students in their disciplines, and train key point people, beginning with the library staff, in the finer elements of this application so that they may train and mentor faculty and students as needed.
