MLF Fundraising
Silent Auction at the annual MLA Conference
The Silent Auction is an annual tradition at the MLA Conference, now going on its 16th year. Donations come in from librarians, libraries, local businesses and individuals to support the Foundation and its mission. This volunteer-run auction brings with it not only a fair number of unique items to outbid your colleagues on, but it also offers a chance for folk to network with the Minnesota library community, to work with and for a good cause and to just have fun.
Lunch for Libraries
The second annual Lunch for Libraries, an author-luncheon fundraiser for the Minnesota Library Foundation was a great success! Thank you everyone who participated.
Blue Zones founder and ecopreneurial explorer Dan Buettner was the guest author. Blue Zones are areas of the world Buettner has determined where people live the longest and healthiest lives. His findings appear on his Blue Zones web site. The Blue Zone: Lessons for Living Longer from People Who’ve Lived the Longest was a New York Times bestseller. We think his appearance and information promise to be very timely.
