Jacki Betsworth
Jacki Betsworth, office manager of Macalester College’s DeWitt Wallace Library since 2003, is a relative newcomer to the library professional world but a long-time supporter of libraries. Jacki has served on the Executive Board of the Minnesota Library Association’s Support Staff and Paraprofessionals Section (SSPiN) and is a current board member of the Minnesota Library Foundation. She was the recipient of MLA’s 2007 Una Lamb Outstanding Paraprofessional Award.
Lyndi Finifrock
Lyndi Finifrock serves as the Minnesota Library Association representative to the Board. She is a Reference and Instruction Librarian at Bethel University. A professional librarian for 5 years, Lyndi has been an avid user of libraries all her life. She graduated from the MILE Leadership Institute in 2005.
Nancy Hegdahl
Nancy Hegdahl, office manager of Twin Cities Housing Development Corporation since 2007. She left her position at Cooperating Libraries in Consortium but didn’t leave her passion for libraries, staying involved by serving on the MLF Board as treasurer. Nancy has served on the Executive Board of the Minnesota Library Association’s Support Staff and Paraprofessionals Section (SSPiN) and was the recipient of the MLA’s 2005 Outstanding Paraprofessional Award and the MLA 2005 President’s Award in recognition of her major contributions to MLA. Her most recent endeavor in supporting libraries is the annual fundraiser “Lunch for Libraries".
Susan Herridge
Susan Herridge is Development Director at Store To Door, a Twin Cities nonprofit. Susan worked for 25+ years in the corporate sector, doing advertising, marketing and communications for an array of clients while working at Carmichael Lynch Advertising and later, at Capella University. Susan has a life-long love for libraries, dating from the days that she routinely toted 15 books a week home from her community library; and could be found sunk on someone's front lawn along the way, lost in a book.
Donald Kelsey
Donald Kelsey retired in 2004 from the University of Minnesota Libraries after a thirty-eight year career as the Library Facilities Planner. He planned the renovation or new construction of seventeen library buildings for the University of Minnesota. He remains active in his profession as a library planning consultant. He also pursues his newest interest, strength-based organizations.
Bill Keppel
Bill Keppel practiced at the Minneapolis law firm of Dorsey and Whitney for more than 25 years during which he chaired its Environmental and Regulatory Affairs Department. He has authored numerous books in the area of civil litigation, administrative law and environmental law, and he taught at three of Minnesota's law schools. After retirement from Dorsey, he was the Distinguished Practicitioner in Residence at Hamline School of Law and he also served as an administrative judge. An avid reader, Bill has been a member of the same book group for more than 25 years.
Belinda E. Lawrence
Belinda E. Lawrence is the Public Access Librarian at the St. Catherine University. Belinda has worked in libraries since 1989 where she started as a Library Aide at the University of Wisconsin Parkside library. Since then she has worked in several different types of libraries: public, corporate, special and academic, and in different capacities. Belinda was part of the first graduating class of the MILE Leadership Institute (2003) and has also served as MLF Silent Auction Co-Chair from 2004-08.
Adam Lerner
Adam Lerner has been the president and publisher of Lerner Publishing Group for the past 10 years. Prior to that time, he worked for Macmillan Publishing Company and Farrar Straus & Giroux in New York. He has served on numerous book publishing-related boards, including Coffee House Press, the Minnesota Book Publishers Roundtable, and the Children’s Book Council, and he is currently on the board for Milkweed Editions and the advisory board of the English Department at the University of Minnesota. Adam’s two young sons keep him in touch with what kids are reading today.
Judy Nelson
Judy Nelson is retired! Before retirement Judy spent forty-two years working for 3M. Twenty-four of those years were spent with Library Systems doing various marketing and communication assignments. It was during this time she developed her passion for libraries traveling the United States visiting libraries, attending conferences, and learning what libraries do for their communities, colleges, universities and schools. Judy's favorite pastime is reading a book and she had to start keeping a log of the books she was reading as she was finding after going to the library, she was bringing home books she had already read!
Ben Trapskin
Ben Trapskin is a Senior Librarian in the Hennepin County Library system. Ben has served as the Minnesota Library Assoociation Intellectual Freedom Chair, Member at Large 2006-2008. He was a part of the first graduating class of the MILE Leadership Institute (2003) and the first graduating class of the ALA Emerging Leaders Program (2007). He has worked in many different libraries including: public, academic, corporate, special libraries and has also provided consulting services to libraries.
Stu Wilson
Stu Wilson is the Executive Director of the Library Foundation of Hennepin County. Prior to joining the Library Foundation in 2008, he was with The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library for 12 years, where he oversaw individual giving, public relations, programming, strategic planning and the Minnesota Book Awards. In addition to his work on the Minnesota Library Foundation Board, he currently serves as the vice-chair of the Board of Coffee House Press.
