| The successful candidate will possess a masters degree from an ALA accredited graduate program and have at least one year of cataloging experience. The individual will demonstrate an understanding of current cataloging rules and standards, including AACR2, ISBD, MARC, DDC, and LCSH, while being open to learning and applying new and alternative ways of resource description and classification. The individual will have excellent communication and technology skills, the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, and a willingness to accept and adapt to change with patience and grace. Cataloging experience in a public library is highly desirable as well as experience working directly with the public through Reference or other public services. An understanding that cataloging is an art, not a science, as well the possession of a keen sense of humor, would be beneficial.
