Reading and Books

  • Born to Read
Born to Read, It’s Never Too Early to Start! has been completely redesigned to help expectant and new parents become aware that reading to a baby from birth is critical to every baby’s growth and well being. This site is in its “infant” stage, so please continue to check for helpful resources directed to new parents and the librarians who serve them.
  • Children’s Literature Network
Your independent connection to the world of literature for children and teens.
  • Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library
A joint project of the Public Library Association and the Association for Library Service to Children.
  • Lexile Framework for Reading
Information about matching a reader to a book using lexile measures. Does include title search.
  • The Cooperative Children’s Book Center
A unique and vital gathering place for books, ideas, and expertise in the field of children’s and young adult literature. The CCBC is a noncirculating examination, study, and research library for Wisconsin school and public librarians, teachers, early childhood care providers, university students, and others interested in children’s and young adult literature. The CCBC is part of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) School of Education (SoE), and receives additional support from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
