REFERENCE LIBRARIAN:

Excellent career opportunity!  The Grand Rapids Area Library is seeking a dynamic individual to head its reference and adult services department.  Administers operations to achieve goals within available resources; plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments within assigned area; trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed. Provides operational management of the library in the absence of the Director when assigned.   Minimum qualifications include:  Graduation from an American Library Association accredited college OR University with a Masters degree in library or information science; OR Graduation from an accredited institution with a Masters in Education in library media services plus at least three years of experience in Library operations in increasingly responsible positions; OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.

This full-time position includes an excellent benefit package. Starting Salary is $16.99 per hour.  Weekend and evening work is required.
